CatSci and LabLinks Announce Virtual Poster Competition for PhD Students

CatSci Ltd, in collaboration with LabLinks, are pleased to announce their virtual chemistry poster competition for final year PhD students. Hosted online on Tuesday 15th February 2022, this event is a chance for the emerging talent to share their research with their peers and the wider chemistry community.

With a focus on chemistry but with no limitations in regards to topic, the poster competition is a celebration of the scientists of tomorrow. With opportunity to connect and educate, the competition will recognise the emerging talent in chemistry and bring the scientific community together. The first place winner will receive The CatSci Award, which is a prize of £1000 as well as an exciting opportunity to present their poster at a CatSci symposium next year in front of industry experts and the scientific community. There will also be a runner-up prize, The LabLinks Award of £500.

Held online on the LabLinks platform, the CatSci LabLinks Poster Competition aims to unite the chemistry community over the globe. Free from the environmental and financial costs that can come with a traditional, physical symposium, our virtual event invites PhD students to share their work and network, wherever they are in the world. Register here today!

  • Cash and community prizes
  • Participate from anywhere in the world

How it works

Applicants will need to register here, and then submit an abstract of 250 words no later than 11:59 am GMT on Tuesday 21st December 2021. Our esteemed judging panel, comprised of industry experts, will then select the top abstracts. We will contact these applicants by 23rd December, and invite them to present a poster at our virtual finals.

Poster competitions are usually held in-person, with participants standing next to their poster to present their findings. We will be hosting this event on LabLinks, creating a virtual space for presentations and networking. There will be three “rooms”, where participants will be able to host their poster and virtually present it to the judging panel and attendees. The event will be open to the public, who will also need to register to attend.

The winning poster will be decided by our judging panel of industry experts, along with votes from attendees.
