CatSci Ltd, a scientifically led, commercially minded and award-winning innovation partner for medicines development, has joined the My Green Lab certification programme – the global standard for best practice in laboratory sustainability (mygreenlab.org).

CatSci’s process chemistry laboratory achieved the outstanding Platinum certification level, meaning that over 70% of the Green Lab assessment actions were fully implemented. Just behind and coming up fast, CatSci’s analytical laboratory in Cardiff was awarded the Silver certificate.

My Green Lab’s global sustainability standard requires scientists and laboratories to adopt practices to help reduce energy, water and waste, and to minimise the use of hazardous and toxic chemicals.

These awards reflect CatSci’s efforts to constantly assess, review and improve its ways of working to minimise the environmental impact of its laboratories, and highlight its ongoing commitment to sustainability across its business.

Ross Burn, CEO, said: “I’m proud that the dedication of the CatSci team who are developing innovative, green and cost-effective manufacturing processes for small molecule therapeutics has been recognised in these awards. These certifications are just the beginning as we continue our efforts to make impactful changes across our expanding laboratory network with sustainability always in mind.”
