Laboratory and Facilities Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>8th November 2018<\/p>\n<p><strong>Due to ongoing success, CatSci Ltd is entering a period of high growth and now requires an experienced Laboratory and Facilities Manager to support the dynamic team in their world-class facility.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Location:<\/em><em>&nbsp;Cardiff, UK<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Contract: Full-time, permanent, to start as soon as possible<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Compensation:<\/em><em> \u00a328-38k, 25 days annual leave, company benefits and annual bonus<\/em><\/p>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Reporting directly to a Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of CatSci\u2019s laboratory facilities<\/li>\n<li>Qualification of new apparatus and equipment for laboratory use<\/li>\n<li>Training of scientific staff in use of laboratory equipment<\/li>\n<li>Planning and following through with laboratory and equipment maintenance and upgrade schedules<\/li>\n<li>Procurement of equipment, chemicals and consumables as required for project needs<\/li>\n<li>Developing, writing and upholding relevant SOPs<\/li>\n<li>Implementing and maintaining safety standards in the company<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the technical team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Knowledge and Skills<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Significant experience (5+ years) in laboratory or facilities management in a scientific laboratory context<\/li>\n<li>A qualification in science (HNC, HND or Degree level) or in facilities management\/laboratory management<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of COSHH regulations and GLP<\/li>\n<li>Experience dealing with cryogenic and other gases, pressure elute systems and their associated regulations<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the handling, packaging and transport of dangerous goods<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to work with a wide range of people to ensure the smooth running of a facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Person Specification<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The ideal candidate will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-motivated and able to work well with a fair degree of autonomy<\/li>\n<li>Able to prioritise and reconcile agendas of various stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>A \u2018can do\u2019 attitude;
